Broughty United YFC are one of the founding member clubs of the Dundee East Community Sports Club (DECSC). The DECSC was launched in 2009 and is made up of Broughty Athletic JFC, Broughty United AFC, Broughty United YFC, Douglas Lads Club & Ferry Athletic YFC.

The above mentioned football clubs provide immediate membership of around 600, supported by around eighty volunteers. The Group Clubs have players ranging from Under 8's through to adults and DECSC is already well on its way to achieve one of its aims to provide well organised football opportunities from six years old right through to retirement!

Facilities of the individual clubs on their own are very limited. The coming together of the clubs will allow them to share facilities, resources and the expertise of it's volunteers for the benefit of it's existing membership and the local community.

Since the club was founded they have received funding for the relaying of the car park to improve parking and access, and two new portacabins have been installed within Whitton Park for improved changing facilities.

Next on the agenda is to improve the current fencing around Whitton Park for obvious security purposes, and they are currently working towards obtaining funding and land for an astroturf training pich. Looking long term, there are ambitious plans to turn Whitton Park into a stadium further down the line. With a full sized astroturf pitch that could be used year round, a new clubhouse & indoor gym.

Although the Club is initially focussing on football as it's main sport, two local bowling clubs; Broughty Castle BC & Broughty BC have since joined which will allow the member clubs have additional facilities for functions etc. This pushes membership of the DECSC to around 800. Any local sporting organisations are invited to contact the DECSC with a view to becoming a member club.

At the end of the day the DECSC will benefit the whole area. The primary object of the DECSC is to promote and nurture sporting activities at grass roots level within the East of Dundee and this will be partly done by expanding the Club to encompass a number of local sports.
