.: developing talent & players - our philosophy

Culture
Developing a positive culture is important at our club. We want to create an environment where the players want to be. And that means training hard and playing harder. We know that players improve more when they are placed in a positive learning environment. At our club we try to create a positive culture for you to train and play. Everything we do is centred on the player and their development.

To become a talented player you must have a passion for the game. Our goal is to develop talented, motivated and educated players that can be a credit to their team and themselves.

Coaches
At our club, the coaches represent professionalism, integrity, act as role models and have a wealth of knowledge to pass on to our players. Our coaches respect our players and provide an environment for them to be successful and focus on what they love to do, play the game! All our coaches hold Scottish FA coaching awards & certificates from the Scottish FA coach education & development programme.

Calendar
Our individual team calendars allow players to participate on a regular, year round basis. We have a blend of individual training and team focused drills that provide a structure for our players to improve, with the main focus upon long term player & team development.

We have created an annual calendar that blends intense team training with various other non-football activities which will allow players to stay positive about the game and ultimately reach their maximum potential. Our success is measured long term.

Training Ethos
We recognise that all players, regardless of age or ability, need technical & tactical development. Every training session we run will have a specific aim in mind. Whether it be inividual skill development or team tactics. Our way of coaching allows players to apply skills in a practical game setting. A complete player not only knows how to execute a technique, but also when and where to apply it on the pitch.

The focus of training is still on development: players' natural desire to win on the park is fostered by the coaches. Our training is focused on
developing the individual players, while preparing the team to win and compete.

Our training is a blend of all the best known drills and coaching methods from around the globe. We incorporate methods from the top teams and coaches available. We try to create training sessions that are fresh and challenging for every player. We have confidence in our training that it will develop our players with the right skills and attitude to perform on the pitch, as well as off it
.

Broughty United Boys Club was formed in 1973 by Mr. Norman Ingram, David Myles, David Brown and George Ferguson for the young people of Broughty Ferry and was part funded by the current Broughty United Amateur Football Club.

The name was then changed to Broughty United Youth Football Club and the constitution was rewritten to accommodate the desire for girls to participate in the sport and incorporate the requirements of child protection and safe sport,

Broughty Utd YFC have recently been awarded the Scottish FA 'Community Club' award in November 2010. More info can be found on our Quality Mark page.

All our coaches are committed to providing the opportunity for boys and girls from Broughty Ferry and the surrounding area to play football, develop new skills and meet new friends in a fun and friendly environment. They will encourage your child to enjoy football while transferring the values of respect, teamwork and enthusiasm.

All our coaches have current Disclosure Scotland and First Aid certificates, and all our teams have a coach that has attained a Level 3 'Coaching In The Game' certificate and 2 coaches at the club have also recently attained the Level 4 'Basic Childrens Award' from the Scottish FA Coach Education & Coach Development Programme.

.: club awarded communtiy club status by scottish fa

The club are delighted to announce that they have been awarded 'Community Club' status through the Scottish FA Quality Mark.

Congratulations must go to all the team managers and officials. We have had a number of new managers and coaches become involved with the club over the past few months so well done for obtaining your first aid and Scottish FA Coach Education certificates.

Special congratulations is reserved for our Coach Co-ordinator Niall Nicolson. Niall has done a power of work recently to make this happen and the club are thankful for his dedication and effort.

The club currently has nine teams representing children, youths, girls and have links to local adult amateur & Junior football teams. The 'Community Club' status shows that the club is dedicated to identifying & developing talent and allowing these young players to perform at their maximum level.
